Testing and Certification

There is a statutory duty of care for businesses, whether large or small, for all electrical installations in workplaces to be maintained as to be safe and to prevent danger; therefore, the Regulations require regular inspections and testing to take place.

Taking care of compliance

Due to our extensive knowledge in this area, we will deliver a solution to look after your corporate and legal interests whilst making sure of your compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. http://www.hse.gov.uk/electricity/hse.htm

It is understood that many companies cannot afford for their working day to be disrupted. If it is required due to normal working hours that access is limited, we can arrange evening working hours or weekends. We will liaise with you to plan the most efficient and cost effective way forward.

Electrical Installation Condition Report

To achieve an acceptable standard of safety and effective recorded monitoring of your installation, an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), is a test and report of the fixed wiring, which will detail any observed damage, defects, deterioration, dangerous conditions and any non-compliances with the current safety standard. It is recommended:

  • Commercial buildings and offices, including Landlords – Every 5 years or change of occupancy
  • Industrial and places of public entertainment – Every 1 to 3 years dependant on usage.

We provide a comprehensive, independent and unbiased report on the condition of your installation. For your complete peace of mind and quality assurance, all testing is carried out in accordance with the 18th edition of the IEE wiring regulations, BS7671.

Portable Appliance Testing

PAT testing is an important part of any health & safety policy. As mentioned above The Electricity at Work Regulations place a legal responsibility on employers, employees and self-employed persons to comply with the provisions of the regulations and take reasonably practicable steps to ensure that no danger results from the use of such equipment. We provide the best possible value in today’s marketplace by not charging per item as most but rather by the time spent.
